Ahhh...I return from the wonderful lavender fields of Sequim, WA. You can scroll through the pictures at the left if you're into that sort of thing...vacation voyeurism!
I had a very nice and needed break in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains on the Washington State peninsula. Good weather, good food, good friend, good time. I returned to Seattle just in time to begin my pre-op preparation for my colonoscopy early tomorrow morning...that's right...the "colon blow"!
I know the purpose of the "colon blow". It's so the Gut Doctor can have a "clear and clean" picture of my innards. But why on earth does it (my colon) have to be THAT clean?!? And the taste of the gunk one drinks before a colonoscopy...Ugh! No wonder my gut works so quickly and furiously to get rid of that stuff...it's just down right nasty!
So, I'm sticking close to home today...actually more closely to my toilet...and trying to maintain my "calm" I achieved while strolling through the lavender fields. If I close my eyes, I can still feel the sun and smell the fabulous scent of the lavenders and flowers...it sure beats the smells of my bathroom right now!
Wish me luck with my pipe cleaning tomorrow...gotta go...literally.

Good luck tomorrow! I just had my colonoscopy/endoscopy in February....the procedures are a piece of cake, it is the NASTY stuff you drink...the whole prep the day before that is horrible. There are so many things that can be done in this day and age, I find it interesting that giving us a decent tasting prep....one that is at least tollerable and maybe not so hard on the system would be easy for them to come up with. I guess not!
You will be in my thoughts and prayers today and tomorrow (as today is most likely worse). Take care of yourself.

Today is a great day for you to catch up on your summer reading sitting on your pot! That is about all that is open to you today. When they do the procedure tomorrow (which is very easy so not to worry) just ask the doctor to view your colon with him as he or she travels up its corridors--it is fascinating. Hope they find everything in order.
Oh gosh woman, I totally forgot that was coming out, or I mean, coming up for you! =o)
I will only wish you the most awesome colonoscopy there ever was to be had. Try not to yak on that great tasting drink they give you. I didn't try to hard, and ended up having both ends blow at the same time, if you know what I mean.
Be sure to let us all know how it went....I'm be anxiously awaiting the final report. Truly....honestly....seriously....is that a song?? Ughh...me and songs....whats up with that?
~~hugs~~ awaiting you from hot and steamy but getting cooler Chicago!
